E-bike service
We service a limited selection of Class 1 & Class 3 pedal-assist e-bikes only. We do not service any e-bikes with throttles or throttle capability (Class 2). Please review the following guidelines before scheduling service.
We service bikes with
- Pedal-assist mid-drive systems (Bosch, Shimano, Brose, Fazua, TQ)
- Select hub-drive systems (Hyena, Mahle) purchased from Maklin Bike Shop
We do not service
- Class 2 e-bikes or anything with a throttle or self-propelled capability
- Hub-drive e-bikes not purchased from Maklin Bike Shop
- Direct-to-consumer / online e-bike brands
- Bikes with DIY or aftermarket conversion kits
- E-bikes with unknown or generic-branded brake/drivetrain systems
Additional e-bike service notes
- Power or electrical issues: We do not service the electronics, motor, battery or computer systems of e-bikes not purchased from us — only the mechanics of the bike itself.
- Additional labor charges: Extra shop labor may apply for e-bikes requiring additional time due to proprietary designs, limited technical documentation, motor removal for cable routing, chain guards, difficult wheel removal, fenders, or other e-bike-specific complexities.
If you’re unsure whether your e-bike is serviceable, email us a link to the make, model and specs of your bike and we’ll confirm.
*In most cases, e-bikes are best serviced at shops that carry that brand.
